Donna is a kintsugi artist and designer working out of her sunny Belle Vue studio in the heart of Shrewsbury's thriving arts community.
A student of Japanese art, culture, literature and language, Donna trained in modern kintsugi repair and was inspired to set up Kintsugi Fusion.
Donna prefers to employ modern kintsugi techniques, substituting tratitional urushi and 24 carat gold for epoxy resins and gold mica powder so that experiencing this beautiful medium is made affordable to all.
A happy discovery made while attempting (without success) to piece together a shattered bowl, resulted in the creating of a pendant, and the recycling of an otherwise irreparable bowl. The result was our successful range of jewelley, fashioned with the same care and attention as our larger ceramic pieces and using the same kintsugi processes and techniques.
We are delighted to offer a selection of Japanese inspired photographs by talented Shrewsbury photographer, James Warman.
You may even recognise his work in some of our product shots!
James's stunning framed photographs can be bought directly from our shop or by contacting him through the link below.
