京都 Kyoto Workshop:
Half day (approx 3 hour) one-to-one workshop.
In this beginners workshop you will learn the basics of modern kintsugi by crafting a choice of;
A) your own unique piece of wearable art - a kintsugi inspired pendant.
B) a Japanese style shallow trinket dish.

江戸 Edo Workshop:
Full day (approx 6 hour) one-to-one workshop.
This comprehensive workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some prior knowledge of kintsugi.
Over the course of the day you will repair a piece of ceramic tableware (bowl or plate)using modern kintsugi techniques. In addition to your plate or bowl, you will also create a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art in the form of a stunning pendant.

奈良 Nara Workshop:
An advanced, staggered workshop for those with experience in modern kintsugi techniques who want to master the traditional Japanese method. The original technique (passed down through families for centuries) employs tree sap
lacquer (urushi) imported from Japan and genuine 24 carat gold. Due to the time needed to complete a repair using this ancient method, this one-to-one workshop will take place over several months in three separate sessions - approx 2 hours each.
While the high cost of imported urushi and 24k gold powder makes this an expensive option, it is an extremely rewarding experience for anyone interested in exploring traditional kintsugi and its long history.*

- All materials will be supplied and you will be expertly guided throughout your session.
- For those who wish to try it, Japanese matcha tea will be available.
- You will be invited to taste a selection of homemade Japanese sweet treats -daifuku mochi 大福もち) and if you want to give it a go, try making some yourself.
- Every workshop will be packed with fascinating facts about kintsugi and its unique place in Japan’s art, history and culture.
- Kintusgi is not just a practical art form but also a philosophy for life recognised the world over. Learn about the benefits to body and soul by practising this mindful philosophy yourself.
