 京都 Kyoto Workshop: 

Half day (approx 3 hour) one-to-one workshop.

In this beginner's workshop, you will learn the basics of

 modern kintsugi using the 'fluid' technique to repair and   create your choice of the following options:

 

A) A unique piece of wearable art - a kintsugi inspired pendant. 

B) A small Japanese bowl.


This workshop is suitable for a maximum of two people.

For 1 person: £80

For 2 people: £150

Alternatively, why not book a workshop in the comfort of your own home? 

All you need is a few hours, some good friends and a space large enough for your guests - a dining room table or similar is perfect. 

Choose from;

  • A piece of wearable art - a kintsugi repaired necklace 
  • A shallow, Japanese dish/trinket bowl

What you can expect from your workshop:

  • All materials will be supplied and you will be expertly guided throughout your session.
  • For those who wish to try it, Japanese matcha tea will be available.
  • You will be invited to taste a selection of homemade Japanese sweet treats -daifuku  mochi 大福もち)
  • Every workshop will be packed with fascinating facts about kintsugi and its unique place in Japan’s art, history and culture. 
  • Kintusgi is not just a practical art form but also a philosophy for life recognised the world over. Learn about the benefits to body and soul by practising this mindful philosophy yourself.

Donna is passionate about her work and her knowledge of Japan’s history and culture will keep you entertained throughout your kintsugi journey. 

She will guide you through the process at your own pace - so, if you need a bit more time, no problem - Donna will support you all the way until you are happy with your end result - a beautiful piece of kintsugi, patiently crafted with your own hands
